Step 1: Read and Agree to the Program Terms and Conditions
Click here to read and agree to the Program Terms and Conditions. Once you have read, understand and have agreed to the Program terms and Condition, you may then proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Complete and Submit Your Application
You may complete and submit an application online, or download an application to complete and mail in. You may also obtain an application from your local participating utility to complete and mail in.
If you want to apply online, or wish to download and print an application to complete and them mail in, please select the appropriate button shown below.
Regardless on what method you choose to use to apply, please note that when submitting your receipts and other required documentation, the applicant’s name must appear on the receipts and must be the same name of the person who applied, and was approved, for the rebate. Failure to provide rebate receipts and documentation that have the same name as the pre-approved applicant will result in the rebate being denied. If the applicant’s name is not printed on the sales receipt please handle as follows:
- For applicants planning to purchase toilets at the Home Depot – Toilets MUST BE purchased at the Special Services desk (not in the standard check-out line) where applicants are required to obtain a Special Services Customer Invoice – which should include the applicant’s name and address.
- For toilets purchased at other stores or through contractors/vendors you must request a handwritten receipt from the store/vendor to be provided to you on their letterhead with a signature and printed name of an employee of the store/vendor.
Also, please remember that you must be pre-approved before you purchase and install your toilet. Toilets purchased before your approval date will not qualify for a rebate.
(Please note: Applications will only be accepted and approved from qualifying participants while funding is still available. Once the funding is exhausted, no new funding will become available until October 2012. That means, when the funding runs out, the rebates will be discontinued until the next year. So we encourage you to apply today.)
Step 3: Wait for your Application to be Approved
Do not purchase your toilet until you have received written notification that your application has been approved. Toilet purchased before your application gets approved will not be eligible for a rebate. Please note that we will verify the purchase date of your toilet when we review your receipt.
Step 4: Receive Your Application Approval then Purchase Your Toilet(s)
Once you receive your written approval, you are then authorized to purchase your WaterSense®-approved High Efficiency Toilet(s) (HET). If you are uncertain about which toilets qualify simply select the “WaterSense” or “What is a HET?” icons located on the right side of this page. Remember, toilets purchased that are not WaterSense® certified and also use 1.28 gallons per flush or less, will not be eligible for a rebate. If you are replacing your toilet (s) with a WaterSense® dual flush toilet, it must also use 1.28 gpf or less for both flush options.
Step 5: Submit Your Receipts
Once you have installed your toilet(s) you are now ready to submit your materials to receive your rebate. As outlined in the “Submitting Your Receipts” section, you must submit for each toilet:
- Copy of your receipt
- UPC or the bar code from the packaging
- WaterSense® label from the packaging
- Photo of the installed toilet at the qualifying residence
Please note that one of these documents must indicate that your new toilet(s) uses 1.28 gallons per flush or less. That’s goes for the dual flush models as well. If the documentation shows that one of the flush options uses more than 1.28 gallons per flush then that toilet will not qualify for a rebate. If the gallons per flush is not specified on your documentation, you must include a copy of the specification sheet that comes in the packaging.
If you fail to provide all of the required documentation, you will not be eligible to receive your rebate. For more information, please refer to the “Submitting Your Receipts” section below.
